Our Salute

Living near the Fort Riley military base, a resident does not go a single day without seeing one of our service members. Am I the only one that, despite the chaotic state of our country, feels a tremendous comfort in being surrounded by servicemen and women?

Luckily, the communities near Ft. Riley are constantly and effortlessly incorporating the Army’s presence in our daily lives.

Attend a football game at Bill Snyder Family Stadium and you’ll see them front and center during the opening ceremony.

Do you enjoy a night out in Aggieville? You’ll see the military police there assisting Riley County Police Department.

Parades are frequent throughout the year and you’ll find the military proudly marching down the streets. The best part? Watching a retired veteran salute the young men and women in the parade.

The greater Manhattan area and Ft. Riley have long been connected to one another and I’m forever grateful to have an upbringing founded with respect for our wonderful military.

When Rockhill Real Estate Group opened our doors 3 short years ago, we did one of our first social media giveaways on Veteran’s Day. We asked people to nominate their favorite vet and we sent them a gift-card for lunch. As our company has continued to grow, so has our connection to the faces of our servicemen and women.

At Rockhill, we have 4 servicemen I want to introduce to you although you may recognize a face or two!

Jacob Boyer

This familiar face served as a Sergeant in the US Army from 2013-2016 as a Forward Observer. Upon the completion of his service, we were excited, honored and happy to welcome Jacob to the Rockhill Real Estate Group family as he started his civilian career. Thank you so much, Jake!

Captain Ryan T. Maynard

Ryan is married to Julie (Tacha) Maynard, our marketing coordinator (and former Realtor!). Right now, Ryan and Julie are in Katterbach, Germany where Ryan serves as the Charlie Company Commander for the US Army. Thank you so much, Ryan, for your continued service!

Captain Nick Holland

Stationed at Ft. Riley, you’ll find Captain Nick Holland where he is an Intelligence Captain with the 1st Engineers Battalion in the US Army. Nick is married to Kim Holland, Realtor with our company. We’re so happy to have you at Ft. Riley, Nick!

LCPL Michael Hartman

Our office manager, Christine Bishop, is the proud mother of Lance Corporal Michael Hartman. He is currently serving with the Marine Corps in King’s Bay, Georgia with the security forces. We salute you, Michael!

As in previous years, we want to do something special for as many veterans as we can to honor their dedication and service to protecting our freedoms. Our Facebook page will be providing an opportunity for people to nominate their favorite past or present veteran. The first 25 nominations will receive a gift card for lunch to Old Chicago.

Despite the bleak world our country may be sitting in right now, it is imperative as individuals, as parents, as friends, as co-workers, as community members, we focus on what we can do to help improve the quality of our country. The burden of changing the entire world is too heavy to bear alone, but banded together, we can each make a difference with just a little effort.

Join us in celebrating our veterans tomorrow and join us every day in making our community a better place to call home!

As Always,

Casie
