Acts of Kindness

by Trish Beggs

TGIF! In the world of Realtors, Friday’s are the kick-off day for a bustling two (or three) days full of showings, open houses and ideally, executing contracts.

At the Rockhill Real Estate office, everyone is busy trying to catch their second wind after the most chaotic week ever. In the midst of settling into our new location in Grand Mere, we celebrated our first birthday!

Naturally, we popped a few bottles of champagne to celebrate!

However, this was not the real party. Over the course of the past 12 months, our company and our agents have been recipients of so many kind words, gestures and even gifts. We wanted to take the opportunity to return the kindness. Enter our Random “Act of Kindness” Birthday Party!

Equipped with a $25 Visa check card, each agent in our office set off to surprise someone with ONE (you know, since we are now 1 year of age) random act of kindness. The act was totally up to them. Here’s what they did:

Brooke Norman-Tapp picked up some goodies from Mr. K’s and delivered the sweet treats to everyone at the Homecare and Hospice House.

Jessica Kueker surprised someone at a gas station and filled their car up with a tank of gas. You know this guy will have a great weekend when a pretty lady buys your gas on Friday afternoon!

Melissa Brinkman took the Boys & Girls Club of Manhattan a package of craft supplies for upcoming projects. If you’re interested in supporting this organization too, they have a list of suggested items on their website.

Trish Beggs donated to the Birthday in a Box MHK organization. This a great organization assisting the less fortunate with an opportunity to provide children with a birthday party they deserve.

Shannon Payne took her Visa check card over to EMS Station 1 in Manhattan to let them spend it how they wanted. Hopefully they headed over to Sonic for some refreshing drinks on this HOT day!

Adam Bonewitz stood in line at Randina’s Coffee House and paid for lots and lots of coffee. Who doesn’t love a free cup of coffee in the morning?!

Julie Tacha found an elderly woman in the grocery store and took care of her bill. The smile on her face was totally worth it!

For my act of kindness, I took a couple of bottles of wine over to the Manhattan Association of Realtors office. The two ladies running this organization go above and beyond their duties and were definitely well-deserving recipients.

Everyone at Rockhill Real Estate Group had a great time finding different ways to give back to our community. Have a happy and safe Labor Day weekend.

Cheers to celebrations AND contracts!
